Strawberry Cream

Strawberries Cream Dessert is a - a quick, simple, no bake and a very delicious dessert. When strawberries are in season the best way to enjoy them is with sweetened whipped cream that is indulgent strawberry cream! It is a real treat to the taste buds. Try it out, and I’m sure you will fall in love with it too.



Ingredients (serves 3-4):

Fresh strawberries-200 gms

Whipping cream-    250 ml

Sugar for strawberries-    2 tbsn

Powdered sugar for whipped cream- As needed

 Finely chopped strawberries optional

 

Method:

    1. To make this strawberries and cream recipe start by washing strawberries, de-stem and cut into quarters.

   2. Add to a small bowl, sprinkle the granulated sugar (or powdered sugar), cover with a lid and Macerate it for 15 mins.   This is done to soften the strawberries and release its juices.

   3. After 15 mins, take the whipping cream in a large bowl along with icing sugar, Whip to Soft Peaks are formed.

 4.  Layer macerated strawberries and sweetened whipped cream alternately in a serving bowl. 

 

5. Serve strawberry cream immediately or keep it in the refrigerator to chill for a while about 30 mins to an hour with decorative strawberry.

Mexican Canapé/Tart

 

Mexican Canape/Tarts are the most loved and popular snack recipe among food lovers all over the world. This appetizer recipe is also quite filling due to the generous filling in it. Loaded with delicious vegetables. This Continental recipe is absolutely irresistible and can steal your heart away. "Canapé” is a French origin serves under first course of a meal. In simple language it is a starter serves in small portions as an appetizer !! 

 

This is an easy recipe and can be made with ingredients found in almost every kitchen. When the tangy taste of the mexican sauce along with the crunchiness of the tart hits your taste buds, you are sure to get lost in its luscious taste.The slight warmth of the beans mixed with the spicy salsa and crunch from cool veggies adds an exciting flavor and wonderful mouthfeel with cheese playing the perfect notes to match the symphony.

. Try this vegetarian recipe and surprise your friends & family this weekend. I Had some store bought canapés shells so thought of making with a twist of "Italian" and "Mexican" flavour !

Mexican Filler Ingredients :

Boiled Kidney Beans - 1/2 cup

Boiled Sweet Corn - 1/4 cup

Chopped Green Capsicums - 1/4 Cup

Chopped Red Capsicums - 1/4 Cup

Chopped Tomato - 1/4 Cup

Salsa -

Jalapeño, fine chopped : 2 tbsp (1 no)

Green olives, fine chopped : 1 tsp (2 no’s)

Tomato ketchup : 4-5 tbsp

Eggless Mayonnaise – 1 tbsp

Sweet chilli sauce : 1 tsp

Red Chilli Flakes - 1/4 Tsp

Salt - 1/2 Tsp (as per taste)

Lime Juice - 1Tbsp

White pepper-1 tsp

Topping:

Cheese : small pieces to keep on top.

 

Method:

In a bowl and put the prepared Vegetables Mix all ingredients for Salsa, leave for 10 minutes..

Get canapés ready for serving, keep cheese cut or grated as you please at hand.

 

Mix the boiled corn and beans into the salsa, give a quick toss and portion into the waiting canapé shells, put a piece of cheese .

 

Bake in oven until the cheese melts and serve them warm.

Eggless Apple Almond Cake

This Apple Almond Cake is an interesting and simple cake recipe made from fresh cut apples, apple sauce and topped up with almond nuts. The cake also contains cinnamon flavor that balances well with apple and almonds. The cake tastes amazing. It is moist, buttery, and nutty. The Almonds on the top give a nice crunch to the moist cake. This cake is not overly sweet. It makes the perfect treat for afternoon tea or coffee ! Everybody just loves the soft, moist texture of theApple almond cake combined with the crisp, nutty crumble topping.



Ingredients:

Apple Sauce:APPLE ( Peeled & Grated ) - 1/2 Cup

Sugar - 1/4 Cup

BrownSugar - 1/3 Cup

Milk - 3/4 Cup

Cake Batter:

APPLE SAUCE

Maida- 1 Cup

Baking powder - 1tsp

Baking Soda- 1/2tsp

Cinnoman, Nutmug Powder - 1/4 tsp ( optional)

MILK - 1/4 Cup

Apple slices -½ cup

Silvered almonds -few

 

Method:-

1.Pre Heat the oven to 180 Deg Grease the cake pan.

2.Peel and core the apple. Make thin slices. Keep Aside.

3.In a large mixing bowl add 1 cups of all-purpose flour (maida), baking powder, baking soda, dash of cinnamon, nutmeg powder (optional). Stir all the dry ingredients.

4.Next, whisk together melted butter and sugar. Once the sugar mixture is light and fluffy, Then add the apple sauce until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.

5. Now, add half cup of milk in the buttery sauce mixture and stir well. Finally, add in the all  the dry ingredients and diced apple mix together until it combined to prepare the batter for the cake.

 

6.Pour the mixed batter into the prepared baking dish.  Next add slivered almond, sliced apples in the top of the batter.

 

7.Preheat the oven at 180 degrees celsius and bake the cake for 25  minutes depending on the oven. Check the cake by inserting a knife or skewer into it. If the knife/ skewer comes out clean without any crumbs stuck to it, the cake is ready.

8. When the cake is ready take it out of the oven and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.

 

9.Serve the Apple Almond Cake Recipe as a Tea Time Snack.Enjoy!
